Guided Mountain Lion Hunts Nevada
Cougar Hunts - What to Expect
Lion hunts start before dawn, the crisp morning air sharp against your skin as we roll out on pre-scouted roads, scanning for fresh tracks. The crunch of boots on gravel, the faint scent of pine, and the sudden excitement when the dogs pick up a trail—it’s a rush like no other.
Once the dogs break loose, their baying echoes through the rugged mountain valleys, heart pounding as you push through rocky terrain and thick brush. The terrain may be moderate compared to other states, but the steep climbs and uneven ground demand strength and endurance.
When the cougar is treed or bayed, the air tightens with tension—the dogs circling, the cat’s growl cutting through the silence, and your breath visible in the cool mountain air. Moving in close with the dogs, you face the moment every hunter lives for: deciding if this is the lion worth the harvest. It’s raw, it’s thrilling, and it’s an experience etched in memory forever.
We offer exciting Mountain Lion Hunts Behind Hounds.

Dry Ground Lion Hunting
Lion season runs year-round, and unlike most part-time hound hunters, we fully capitalize on this advantage. Spring cougar hunting is perfect for those who want to avoid the cold and snow.
During this season, our tactics shift—starting early on dusty roads to pick up tracks, then riding or focusing on water holes where cats come to drink. We value the freedom of full access to all roads and the ease of dry-ground hunting without slogging through deep snow.
While riding can be a useful tool, it’s not required to be successful on these hunts. It’s all about smart strategies and knowing the country.
Nevada offers the ideal terrain for dry ground mountain lion hunts.

Meet Our Hounds
We take great pride in raising and training all of our own hounds. Success in this pursuit doesn't come overnight—it requires time, dedication, and the right dogs. To truly thrive, hounds must possess natural instincts that align with the terrain and the game they’re tracking.
After nearly a decade of careful selection, we’ve built a program rooted in proven bloodlines. All of our dogs descend from traditional dry-ground lion hounds out of the southwestern United States. These dogs are highly trail-minded, medium to small in size, and—most importantly—tough-footed. That physical toughness allows them to hunt hard, day after day, in some of the most challenging conditions out there.
When you hunt with us, you’ll quickly gain a new respect for the dogs and the houndsmen behind them. The level of dedication, training, and day-to-day effort that goes into building and maintaining a successful hunting program is immense. Our hounds are more than just tools—they’re trusted partners in every pursuit.
